Understanding the Objective
The Nonprofit Technology Conference (NTC) features over 100 educational sessions, an exhibit hall highlighting the latest nonprofit products and services, and networking events each day. For the NTC, an entire branding concept was required with marketing assets that would be displayed in a variety of forms for the weekend-long event.
Strong Theme-Centered Branding
Each year, the NTC has a new branding theme based on the geographical location. 2018’s conference was held in New Orleans, Louisiana, so the branding needed to reflect that while still maintaining NTC’s design concept and logo. The final logo had the addition of a fluer de lis with gold, an official state color.
Event Space Design
The NTC needed a variety of signage to help attendees navigate the space. Standard signage like welcome signs and aisle markers were displayed prominently throughout the conference center, along with more specialized displays showcasing honorees and day-to-day event schedules.
Takeaway Merchandise
All attendees were distributed branded merchandise bags to collect any information from different booths throughout the day, as well as lanyards. A main addition to this year’s conference were thematic merchandise pins. These pins were designed to be individualized, displaying what the attendee had participated in or what they related to. Another takeaway that could be added to lanyards were gender pronouns. All of the items were meant as tools to continually provide engagement throughout the conference.
